Women's voices out at Menart Fair
|
The
Arab and Persian world abounds in a rich artistic heritage in which
women have always played a crucial role, though often unrecognized.
From poetry to visual arts, music and film, women have expressed their
vision of the world, their experiences and aspirations, contributing to
the diversity and depth of Arab and Persian cultural expression.
This year at Menart Fair, we’re going to pay tribute to them!

A GLOBAL CHORUS
|
|
Women
are known for their engagement. They speak out loud a clear, denouncing
the injustices of the world, corruption and the armed conflicts that
outrage them. Far from being invisible, they have always been there,
much more present and active than is generally perceived. Oscillating
between affirmation and subtlety, these artists also proclaim the
beauty of life, the strength of will, the grandeur of souls, the power
of visions, the riches of otherness, the energy f the world and the joy
of being. |

As
in many other sectors, women artists suffer from under-representation
and consequently under-valuation of their work. It’s vital to give them
the space and spotlight they need to redress the balance in the market. |
