Tribute to Women artists

For its 5th
edition, Menart Fair is back in force to Paris, next fall, from
September 20th to 22nd, 2024 (VIP on the 19th) with a unique edition,
paying tribute to women artists from the MENA regions.
|
Menart
Fair 2024 will focus exclusively on this female artistic scene,
questioning the legacy of the pioneers and questioning contemporary and
emerging creators.
|
| This
edition will not be a new “gendered” event in principle, but rather a
necessity today, to accelerate an ongoing movement. A real challenge to
restore these leading artists to their rightful place. |

The
event is going to host around thirty galleries, some of which will
focus on collectable design. Five curators are in charge of each region
represented: Essia Hamdi for North Africa, Stefania Angarano for Egypt, Kalim Bechara for the Levant & Gulf, and Leila Varasteh for Iran. The Design section is entrusted to Sawsan Mourad Ezz.

reality on the ground that motivates us and our guest curators, is the
vibrancy, richness, variety and importance of the female artistic scene
in the Arab-Persian regions over several generations. This is a
little-known fact, as it is imperceptible from the West. Menart Fair
aims to contribute to this awareness » says Laure d’Hauteville, fair director.

Several
museums are invited to present works from their collections, and
conferences & debates will be held throughout the days of the fair.
Music & dance performances, meetings with institutions and private
evenings with collectors are also on the programme.
