This region has always been at the heart of exchanges between East and West, as well as a necessary crossing obligatory point in the Eurasia-Africa axis. This is to say the incomparable influences that have shaped this region in the most unique way. The modern and contemporary creations of the region, in all their forms, express this originality. But this region of all challenges - religious, political, social, military, energy - has also known the endless yoke of invaders from all sides, shifting border lines, tribal, community and international conflicts... contrasting creations, very different from those that can be found in North Africa or in the Gulf.
